Thanks prithwish for putting forward such a wonderful topic that I think everybody of us will remember throughout their lyf.."My first vote!!"
Well...b4 beginning my experience I wud lyk to inform dat I casted vote this year for the first tym!!,,n God!!...it was so boring!!!...
I had to get up early in the morning at 6.30 as was orderd by my father!!..and guess wat...I had to walk all the way to polling booth(with my family!!) which was quite a long distance, such early!!..
well..it's not yet over...my luck started testing my endurance..as i neared the booth!! After queuing for a long 40 min when I reached the booth...I got to know...I stood in the wrong line..for the man standing outside who was maintaining the queue was a f****** insane!!!...and MY name was allotted in a diff room..!!!
With furious state of mind I stood in the other queue all over again..praying to God that nothing gets screwed up this tym!!..All of a sudden there was chaos n I turned around to see few people screaming at the top of their voice!!..Even the women got involved, the CRPF jawans with INSUS and submachine guns in their hands trying hard to cool down the situation...creating an erratic environment of a typical fish market!! my detective mind soon cud make out dat it was nothing but a protest against a boy trying to break the line..
The situation calmed down in a little while n finally I reached the booth, casted my vote..and got out of that mess...
well..i never even drmt of such a chaotic vote...to say, I was rather excited 'bout it...but once again, my Luck preceded my emotions!!!!
excellent topic chosen.. if we had english language as our subject, then an essay wil surely be turned up in our exams....."UR FIRST VOTING EXPERIENCE"... Much more different than soumya, it was a quite good experience for me.. I was myself very excited to cast my vote for the first tym... As everybody in our neighbourhood do turn up early in the morning in the polling booth from last few years to cast their vote as early as possible, my father decided to go to the booth at around 10am to avoid the jostle... As per the plan, we (me & my family) went to the booth around 10:30 in the morning and saw that yes.... my father was ryt as usual... afetr standing in the queue for just 15mins, we casted our vote without any inconveniences and took that ink mark on my left hand first finger... for the first tym... which made me feel to be "OFFICIALLY ADULT".. On our way to returning home my father bought an ice-cream to us.. I took the FEAST... so...all in all it was a very nice experience to share it with u guys....
the mornig was as usual. As u guys know that salt lake is a peaceful area and the population is a bit less dense than other places so we didn't take any CHAP. I went to the booth at around 12 noon with my sis. there was a queue but the operation was fast. I was astonished to see only one BSF security personnel with no other police or security members. As i entered the polling zone frankly speeking friends only one symbol came to my eyes and i voted for that. I think it is better not to disclose that in public but i think u know what the symbol was ;-).
